Melozzo da Forlì: Musician Angel (1472)

This angel by the Italian master Melozzo da forlì used to be a part of a bigger fresco. Forlì created a fresco called 'Ascension of our Lord' in the Santi XII Apostoli church in Rome. During a renovation in 1711 the fresco was removed and several pieces of the fresco were deposited in the Vatican palace. These angels are very popular with visitors today. This fresco is from 1472.
