Joshua Reynolds was an English painter who specialized in portraits. The sitter of this beautiful portrait is Sarah Campbell at the age of 20. She was the daughter of the Scottish politician Pryse Campbell (Member of Parliament for Cardigan Boroughs, Inverness-shire and Nairnshire) and Sarah Bacon. Sarah Campbell married Thomas Wodehouse on 12 September 1782. Together they got 3 children. This portrait is from 1778.
