This is a very famous woodblock print by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). The print is part of a set called 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji', each print depicting Mount Fuji from different locations, various seasons and weather conditions. On this print you see a large rogue wave threatening 3 small boats off the coast of the prefecture of Kanagawa, mount Fuji can be seen in the background. The print was very popular and there are a very large amount of copies made of it. Print from 1830-1833.
