A painting by the Spanish artist Ramon Casas (1866-1932). Casas created in 1897 a painting called "Ramon Casas and Pere Romeu on a Tandem" for the inauguration of the Els Quatre Gats café in Barcelona. this painting was replaced in 1901 with this one - depicting the artist and Pere Romeu, one of the promoters of Els Quatre Gats, driving a car. The idea was that the painting "Ramon Casas and Pere Romeu on a Tandem" symbolizes the 19th century while this one symbolizes the 20th century. Painting from 1901.
