Veronica joined the Augustinian Order of saint Martha in Milan as a lay sister with whom she distinguished herself by her remarkable virtuosity, her never-drying tears and desire for work. After a six-month illness, Veronica died on the date she had predicted, 13 January 1497. painting from 1816.
