An illuminated page made by an unknown Iranian artist. from an illustrated manuscript. This page comes from an illustrated manuscript and shows a so-called bazm (feast). Situated in the centre is a prince who is sitting on a square platform under a canopy. The prince is holding the two key symbols of Persian kingship—a wine cup and a royal handkerchief. His attendants offer him wine and fruit in gold vessels, as poetry is recited to the sound of the barbat (Persian lute) and the dayira (tambourine). Page from 1525-1530.
