Samuel van hoogstraten: Portrait of the masters of the mint of Holland in Dordrecht (1674)

A painting by the Dutch artist Samuel van Hoogstraten (1627 – 1678). This large group portrait shows the complete administration of the mint of Holland, one of the most important mints in the Netherlands during the middle ages (a lot of cities had their own mint in the middle ages) which was located in the city of Dordrecht. Samuel van Hoogstraten has also portrayed himself on the painting, he is the central figure at the bottom who had turned to the viewer. Painting from 1674.
