Andrea Mantegna: Battle of the sea-gods (1473 - 1477)

Two engraving made by the Italian artist Andrea Mantegna (1431-1506). These two pieces form a frieze and was inspired by an antique relief. Shown on the two prints is a battle between various mythological creatures, encouraged by Envy (Invidia), portrayed as a naked old woman. Engravings from 1473-1477.
