Domenichino: The Lamentation of Christ (1603)

A painting by the Italian artist Domenico Zampieri (1581-1641), known as Domenichino. This piece is a copy of an altarpiece by the Italian artist Annibale Carracci (1560 – 1609). the main difference between the two painting is the inclusion of the turbaned figure of Joseph of Arimathea. The other figures are Mary (in blue) and Mary Magdalene (in red). Painting from 1603.
