Giandomenico Tiepolo: The Burial of Christ (1772)

A painting by the Italian artist Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo (1727 – 1804), also known as Giandomenico Tiepolo. This painting is part of a set of eight scenes from the passion of Christ which was commissioned for the convent of Saint Philip Neri in Madrid. The painting shows Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea placing the body of christ is the tomb while Jesus' mother Mary and Mary Magdalene watching. Painting from 1772.
