A painting by the Italian artist Jacopo Comin, better known as Tintoretto (1519-1594). The Painting shows an episode of the life of saint Mark: a slave was ordered to be executed for his veneration of Christian relics. Saint Mark intervened by making the slave invulnerable - the executioner is showing the broken axe to the Judge. Painting from 1548
