Nicolas de Plattemontagne and Jean-Baptiste de Champaigne: Double portrait of both artists (1654)

(Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

Nicolas de Platte Montagne and Jean-Baptiste de Champaigne were two French painter from the 17th century. In this painting the two artists painted each other in a painter's studio. Jean-Baptiste de Champaigne is on the left, Nicolas de Plattemontagne is on the right. The musical instrument in the middle is a symbol of their harmonious relationship. A nice portrait from 1654.
