Anonymous: a laughing fool with a needle and a thread (1590-1610)

(Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

A nice engraving, designed by the famous Dutch painter and engraver Hendrick Goltzius (1558-1617). The engraving depicts a Dutch proverb "iemand een oor aannaaien" which literally translates to "to sew somebody an ear on". The proverb means "to fool somebody". Engraving from 1590-1610.
