Max Liebermann: The Flax Barn at Laren (1887)

A painting from the German-Jewish artist Max Liebermann (1847-1935). This painting shows the interior of an flax barn were the flax is being processed. On the left side young boys and girls each turn a spinning wheel. On the right side young girls hold the raw flax and make sure to keep the tension of the line by moving forward and backward. Painting from 1887.
