Gesina ter Borch: Gerrit and Cornelis Schellinger as children (1675-1685)
(Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Gesina ter Borch (1631-1690) was a halfsister of the famous genre painter Gerard ter Borch (II) and was an artist and writer. This drawing comes from an family album she made. Depicted are two of her nephews. Cornelis Schellinger, the youngest, is on the left with the hoop (the small metal parts on the inside make a noice when the hoop moves). Gerrit, the oldest, is standing on the right. Drawing from 1675-1685.
