Aniello Falcone: Roman Soldiers in the Circus (1640)

A piece by the Italian artist Aniello Falcone (1600-1656). The painting show mounted 'Roman soldiers' (at least what people in the 17th century thought Roman soldiers looked like) and hung orginally in the Buen Retiro palace in Madrid. Painting from 1640.
