A set of paintings made by the Swiss-French artist Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702-1789), commissioned by the couple after their marriage on 7 december 1756. The man is Joachim Rendorp (1728-1792), born in Amsterdam and was a brewer, mayor of Amsterdam, member of the city council and hoogheemraad (local official of a Dutch water board) of the Beemster. The woman is Wilhelmina Hillegonda Schuyt (1728-1802). Paintings from 1757.
