Quiringh Gerritsz. van Brekelenkam: Interior with a woman and a reading man (1650 - 1668)

(Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

A genrepiece by the Dutch artist Quiringh Gerritsz. van Brekelenkam (1622-1669). A woman is holdding a 'roemer' (a type of large drinking-glass for wine) while a man is reading something from a small book. Nice detail is the block on the table: this used for Bobbin lacing. Painting from 1650-1668.
