Henri Gervex: A Session of the Painting Jury (1885)

A painting by the French artist Henri Gervex (1852 – 1929). This painting shows a group of French artists who are involved in a judging the works of art shown. The room in which this is taking place is a room in the Palais de l'Industrie, an exhibition hall in Paris (erected in 1839 and demolished in 1897).
