Attributed to Paul de Vos: A concert of birds (1650-1678)

A painting which is attributed to the Flemish artist Paul de Vos (1595-1678). This painting shows a wide arrange of birds including a Western yellow wagtail, swan, pigeon, peacock, scarlet macaw, tucan, hoopoe, swallow and even a bat. In the middle of the group is an owl with a music book and is directing the birds. The subject of the painting is the fabel "the owl and the birds" of Aesop and the saying 'The bird is known by his note, a man by his word.'. Painting from 1650-1678.
