Johannes Cornelisz Verspronck: Portrait of a Man and a woman (1640-1641)

(Rijksmuseum Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands)

A set of two paintings by the dutch artist Johannes Cornelisz Verspronck (1600-1662). Unfortunately the identities of this married couple is unknown. These two are best known for being the possible parents of the famous "portrait of a Girl Dressed in Blue" in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam - see the link below. The reason for the possible connection are the similarities between the girl and the woman and that all 3 were together in a collection. Painting from 1640-1641.
