A drawing made by the German artist Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528). This study shows a helmet from three sides. The helmet shown is a so-called 'frog-mouth helmet' or 'Stechhelm'. This type was mainly used for tournaments as the helmet provided improved protection of the eyes. Drawing from 1503.
