Anonymous: The dollhouse of Petronella Dunois (1676)

A dollhouse made by an unknown Dutch artist. This dollhouse was the property of Petronella Dunois (1650-1695), the wife of the regent Pieter van Groenendijck. As common with wealthy ladies from Amsterdam, Petronella commissioned a dollhouse in the form of an art cabinet. The dollhouse consist of 8 rooms and about 20 dolls, together with a collection of miniature furniture (including miniature paintings). The rooms are (top to bottom, left to right): a room for peat, the attic, nursery, the delivery room, the main room, storage, the kitchen and the dining room. Dollhouse from 1676.
